Successful Color Burst Class Update!

We had 8 students attend this recent Color Burst Creations Pop-Up class at Penny Treese’s Home Studio in Decatur! You can’t beat using a blow-torch to do these color fusions! There are always such exciting original results after this class! The pieces are so unique and rich and intense, almost looking three dimensional… Check it out!!

MAY.16.2014. Creative results to a great class! Teaching Basic To Unique Techniques in Encaustic Painting

Taught by Penny Treese and co-teacher, Kim McGill Stuart.  We covered encaustic wax and oil pigment palette development, using a blow torch, creating textures with found objects, scrapping, scratching and water.  Masking with cardboard.  Tupernoid and oil wash.
